AMC Camp Dodge Staff for the White Mountain Volunteer Trail Crew Programs
We have a great bunch of summer staff this season. They are all willing and eager to get out on the trails in the White Mountains and work with volunteers. This sure is one talented bunch of circus performers, be sure to say hello to them when you are at Camp Dodge, or maybe you will be lucky enough to spend a full week or more with some of them!

Camp Dodge Cook/Facility Coordinator
The Famed Knife Juggler of the Camp Dodge Kitchen
Hey y'all, I'm Katie from Manchester, NH. I graduated from Bowdoin College
with a degree in Neuroscience and Visual Arts. Not sure what to with myself
after college, I joined the Student Conservation Association as part of the
Desert Restoration Corps and have been living and working in the Mojave
desert the past year. Ready to return home to my roots and lots of trees,
I'm psyched to be working at Camp Dodge and look forward to cooking up some
great food! On my off-time I like to run, hike, bike, ski - pretty much anything that has to with the outdoors.
The Lion Tamer of the North Country
I was born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts and went to school at Tufts University, majoring in Biology and Environmental Studies. I got hit by the travel bug after living in Spain and Australia for semesters and only days after graduation moved out to Utah where I worked for the Utah Conservation Corps. Since then I have been on the move, living in Seattle, Central Washington, Ecuador, and out of my car for more time than seems humanly possible. In addition to trail work, I have a passion for conservation, ecology, and plants and have worked at a variety of non-profits working in restoration and environmental education. Most recently I was employed by the Washington Trails Association.
Head Trail Crew Leaders
Renee “Mouse” LaGue
“I'm from Westerville, Ohio, and am attending Oberlin College, where I'm majoring in Environmental Studies and Creative Writing. I got into trail work through participating in two Student Conservation Association programs in high school. I was an assistant leader last year and am happy to be returning for another season, this time as a head leader!”
The Fire Eater
“Hey I'm Dave Habib from Cincinnati. I'm living in sunny Ridgecrest California right now doing desert restoration and a whole bunch of other stuff with The Student Conservation Association. I play the banjo and like cooking Indian food, fishing, hiking, and hunting. I'm looking forward to getting back to the East and donating some of my blood to the mosquitoes who I'm sure have missed me while I've been in the desert.”
Assistant Trail Crew Leaders
The Tightrope Walker of Pinkham Notch
Rachel was barely six months old when she saw her first moose, in Baxter State Park, Maine. Needless to say, she has been hiking, climbing, swimming, and camping in the New England backcountry for a long time. Since high school she has participated in Outward Bound's mountaineering course in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and led camping trips with her friends in Maine and Cape Cod, along with pursuing her other passion of art at Simmons College this May she will receive her Bachelors in Arts Administration with minors in French and photography.
The Elephant Rider
"Hey all, name's Nik. I'm a sorta a junior at UMass Boston where I study psychology and minor in history. I am really into music and play bass. Biking is probably my favorite day-to-day activity, especially bombing down busy city streets, it’s a rush! I work at an outdoor clothing retail shop. (in the basement as the shipper) So needless to say I am extra stoked to be outdoors all summer with you guys! I'm pumped to meet you all, see you soon."
Of The Flying Trapeze
Hey everyone! I'm Emma. I'm a freshman at Colby College and am wicked excited to work at Dodge this summer. I'm majoring in environmental science and when I'm not in class I dance, downhill ski, and go on really random hiking trips when I have time. I also enjoy eating tofu, being hyper, and sometimes accidentally having a Boston accent.
