LNT Provider Meeting - 2011

On January 12-13, 2011 in Boulder, CO the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics hosted their annual Provider Meeting. This is an opportunity for the 7 national providers to meet with the leadership from LNT to discuss the success and challenges from the previous year and plan for the current year.

Representatives from the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), Adirondak Mountain Club (ADK), National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Wilderness Education Association (WEA), Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and US Forest Service (USFS) were present for the meeting along with the staff from Leave No Trace... oh, and Bigfoot was there too! The seventh provider, Landmark Learning from North Carolina was unable to attend due to flight cancellations from weather at the Atlanta airport.

This is a great opportunity to meet with the other providers, learn from the shared experiences, get updated on new research and educational materials, and learn about the support offered by LNT to ensure the success of the providers. This was my first Provider Meeting and I have to say I left with a amazing sense of energy and inspiration, ready to bring LNT to a new level within the AMC. The AMC has such a broad and supportive membership that I feel we can achieve far more than we currently do with our LNT programming.

This is a call to action for all AMC members. Please take a look at he scheduled AMC Leave No Trace Programs for 2011 (2-Day Trainer Courses and 5-Day Master Courses) . You can also check your local AMC Chapter Activities for LNT program opportunities. Sign up for a course and help to share your passion for education and conservation through Leave No Trace!

Looking forward to a great 2011 season with LNT,

This is a question for the webmaster/admin here at trailsblog.outdoors.org.

Can I use some of the information from this post above if I give a backlink back to your website?

Thanks,

Hey – nice blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using Wordpress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial run. Anything in particular you would recommend about it?

Hi Alex, Nice article you have here. I often wonder about the existence of the Bigfoot, are they really exist or just a myth.
