On our third day of "Maine-taining" the fine Maine wilderness
one of our trail crew members was mysteriously transformed into a local bull
moose. This occurred en route to Indian Mountain where the bones of those who
failed the forest lay. Lorrie's Ledge!
On a more serious note- we brushed the trail to Gulf
Hagas and brushed and cleaned drainages up Lorrie's Ledge Trail. Many heroic
mountain feats occurred. Jordan, Clay and Nick slayed a giant root with bare (gloved) hands, a pulaski, pick and hand saw. Ariel
reopend a forgotten drainage and momentarily became a local bull moose per an
unsuspecting hiker. Conor, Izzy, and Michela were all-stars on drainage patrol
and Catherine and Zack whapped out a serious blow down with a suspecting bow
saw.
Pond swims, root burning, loon songs, calf raises and smores have been
enjoyed by many back at camp. All is well in Maine. Let the bog bridging begin!
Come visit!
Love,
