Kicking Off the Season - AMC/NH-JAG 2013

Welcome Madison Vlass and Alana Scannell as our two AMC/NH-JAG Trail Crew Leaders for the 2013 summer season!

After two weeks of training on standard AMC trail and leadership expectations we started to scout out our 2013 trail projects for the Berlin and Woodsville JAG students. This photo above was taken from the Kinsman Ridge Trail near the summit of Cannon Mountain. This site will be one of the work locations for Woodsville JAG students this summer!

We have an exciting season lined up for the students this summer. Berlin JAG students will be continuing their work on Mt Jasper in Berlin, Constructing a new trail on White Mountain Community College property, and working with the White Mountain National Forest in the Devil's Hop Yard in in the northern portion of the National Forest. Woodsville students will be workign on the Black Mountain Trail and the Kinsman Ridge Trail previously mentioned.

There is plenty of work to be done in preparation for the season. More project scouting, tools and safety gear organization, coordinating with the local JAG Youth Specialists, and making sure we are fully prepared for our work with the JAG students. July 1 is the first day with Berlin, and we are so looking forward to it.

Here's to another successful season with NH-JAG!
