Last week, we finished up with the Berlin High School JAG students. The four weeks spent with this group were tough, occasionally frustrating, full of mud and dirt, but overall extremely rewarding. At the end of the last week, Lisa King, director of Berlin JAG, held a leadership ceremony to congratulate the students on their completion of the program. Even after all the grueling rock moving, the students expressed that they were sad to see this experience come to an end. They learned a variety of skills that will be valuable tools in whatever career they pursue in the future. Trail work requires teamwork, communication, leadership, problem solving, creativity, trial and error, and patience. Madison and Alana enjoyed their time with the students immensely and found the four weeks just as rewarding as the students did. The front page of today’s Berlin Daily Sun newspaper features the JAG program and outlines the projects that the students took part in. We are so proud of the students for all their hard work and we cannot wait to see where their new skills will take them.
